Sitka. Seed. Self.
w/ Lidia Yuknavitch & the Corporeal Writing Squad

April 4th-7th, at The Salishan Coastal Lodge near Lincoln City, OR

How many ways might writers and artists be in relationship with the storytelling of trees? Forests are the lungs of the planet. Mother trees feed saplings. Trees of the same species are communal, and often form alliances with other species. Trees communicate with each other through vast underground fungal networks, they share water and nutrients, they send distress signals. Forests are mycorrhizal networks. The root tips of trees make intimate relationships with fungal filaments. Trees send chemical and electrical pulses to each other. How might we stand in our own bodies differently? How might we reorient to our own creative work, and to each other? How might we understand self as seed or sediment, storytelling as mycorrhizal? In this interactive creative retreat we will collaborate through conversation, imagination, and writing portals within the Sitka Spruce forests of the Oregon Coast.

Held at the beautiful Salishan Coastal Lodge next to the Pacific Ocean and embedded in old growth forests, this retreat is a chance to unwind, unplug, regenerate, and grow.

Come join Lidia Yuknavitch & the Corporeal Writing Squad (Janice Lee, Domi Shoemaker, Katie Guinn, and Daniel Isaiah Elder) for a weekend to remember. Fill out the form below to let us know you’re interested!
