This deck of visual portals was put together by the Corporeal Writing Squad (Lidia Yuknavitch, Domi J. Shoemaker, Daniel Isaiah Elder, Janice Lee, Katie Collins-Guinn, and Ly Villmann) to help guide new encounters with stories all around you.

Using the deck:

In what ways do different story structures show up in your life now? That is, when you move through the world, where do you see stories emerging? What stories do you encounter in the air around you, the sky above you, the soil beneath your feet? In what ways do your stories intersect with those stories, and how do new stories sprout from those encounters? We encourage you to look, listen, feel, sense, and be with the many beings, stories, & silences around you, in the cracks, and in the hollow or hidden spaces. Allow these cards to be visual portals through which you might encounter new or very old stories, real or imagined ones, and allow for the assemblage of these multi-modal, more-than-human encounters to weave into your own writing and art practice.
